misspelled domain name
-
I just registered a new domain. I meant to spell colour as color.
How can I change it? A support page suggests cancelling registration (within 48 hours of registering) and then starting again. Is that a good idea??
Another support pages suggests:
1. Login to WordPress.com and under My Sites select your website.
2. In the left-hand sidebar scroll down and click on Domains.
3. Click on the domain you’d like to change.
4. Click on Edit Site Address
5. Hover over where it says ‘imwithetheband.wordpress.com’ and you’ll see the option to Change blog address appear. Click on Change blog address.
6. Follow the instructions on that page.
I have tried this but it only changes the .wordpress.com site, not the .com site. Can anyone help? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes, you cannot switch domain registrations after 48 hours. So, as the support page suggests cancelling registration (within 48 hours of registering) and then starting again would be the best option.

Howdy –
I see that you currently have 3 different domains registered to your account. Please let me know which one it is that you wish to keep, and which ones should be cancelled. I will be able to assist you with that process.
When you are signed in to your account at WordPress.com click on My Sites > Switch Site from the upper left corner to view all the sites connected to your account.

No, thanks. I bought the correctly spelt domain name. Problem solved by spending more money!

@vanillaraincoat Alright. I’d recommend keeping both domains for now, then, and using the correct one as primary. That way anyone else who misspells it will end up on the right site.
