Misspelled name

  I spelled my last name wrong. Why do I keep getting “This tool is temporarily disabled”? That’s been what comes up when I try to change my name, same thing for over a week.

  The change name tool needs to be reviewed after a major code update. I’m not sure when it will become available again.

  What you can do right now is simply create a new, separate account with a different email address instead. If you want to use the same email address you used in the misspelled account, then you need to go to the Users -> Personal Settings page and update the email address to something else (and also confirm it in the email confirmation step) before you log out and try creating a new account with that same email address.
