Misspelling in DNS address

Hello,
I want to change the spelling in a registered domain. When I registered it, I spelled a word incorrectly.Currently, the registered domain is “athenaleadershipsoceity.com”
Society is spelled incorrectly, therefore I need to change the domain to “athenaleadershipsociety.com”
I was able to change the domain that ends with .wordpress.com successfully, but this did not change the registered domain. Please let me know if this domain spelling error can be corrected.

Hi Nina,
When you register a new domain, you get ownership of the exact domain name that you registered. Unfortunately, the 48 refund period has passed, so I wouldn’t be able to offer you a refund, and there isn’t an option to change the name — you have to cancel the misspelled domain (athenaleadershipsoceity.com) and then register the one you actually want (athenaleadershipsociety.com).
If you would like me to cancel the misspelled domain please let me know. In the meantime, you can add the correct domain exactly like you did the first time around.

Thank you for your prompt response. For some reason I was not notified via email so I am just now reading it. While I appreciate the timeliness of your response, your answer displeases me quite a bit. Because I did not catch an error in spelling within 48 hours, I am forced to cancel my domain and pay again for another year? It seems obvious that I am not changing it to completely different domain, and anyone can see that it is a simple matter of a spelling error. I believe that this is something that WordPress could fix for me, and as a paying customer I feel I should be entitled to such a simple fix. I would like to speak to a manager about this subject.
