Mistake on Deleted Website

Hello. Here is my situation. I have been setting up a self-hosted WordPress site to take advantage of some community-building features it provided over the WordPress hosted site. I thought I had everything taken care of and deleted the WordPress hosted site (VNs Now.com/vnsnowgames.wordpress.com) earlier today. However, that caused a big issue with the original domain provider and now I’ve pretty much screwed it up. After more research, I realize that the custom domain map was still active when I deleted the website which is causing the new server to conflict with the WordPress ones. This also means that while the old site is ‘technically’ deleted, it also must exist to keep the domain from being moved to a new server. So now I’m working both ends to try and untangle the web.

I realize the old site is gone, but I was wondering if there was a way to disconnect the custom domain from your end? Between that and deleting the new self-hosted site, that should untangle both ends. If there is any other solution to this issue, please let me know!

    Thanks,
    JP

    Hi JP,

I see that your domain is not pointing to us at WordPress.com as seen here:

    http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/results.jsp?domain=vnsnow.com

However, I do see that there is an active domain mapping to vnsnow.com in your account. This shouldn’t cause any issues as the domain is not pointing to us, but I can remove it from your account if you wish.

    Please reply to confirm.

    Thank you!
