Mistakes in blog registration
-
My daughter and I are working on the same blog. She started our blog in her name that I told her to delete but I tried to start a blog in my name with the same blog name because it’s our family name. WordPress is now charging me for the blog because it treats it as if I added a blog. When my daughter deleted the blog from her name does that mean we can’t use our same blog name. Now it seems I’ve registered multiple blogs in that same name and I only want one in the same name. How do I do this?

What to you mean by charging you? There are no charges here unless you choose to purchase an upgrade of your own volition.

There is no recycling of deleted blog URLs here at wordpress.com. That’s why 3 warnings and an email with a verification link are needed to delete a blog.

http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/It’s also why the support documentation for changing a blog address states:
7. The final option presented on this screen allows you to discard your current address. This option will permanently disable the address and you will not be able to reuse it. Only select this option if you are sure you will not use the address again. If you want to redirect traffic to the new blog, you can keep the address and purchase the Site Redirect upgrade. http://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/
You can register another blog with a similar name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/
Or you can purchase a domain name via a domain mapping upgrade as in that case it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.
