Misty Lake mobile version doesn't show excerpts
-
Hi,
I’ve just started to create a blog, using the Misty Lake theme. I’ve enabled the Mobile Theme, and set the ‘Show excerpts on front page’ to Yes.
I’ve created two posts, and I’ve entered excerpts for both of them, but when I open the blog on an iPad, it displays the whole posts rather than the excerpts.
Have I missed something?
many thanks,fredsk

I have looked at your site and I see that one of the two posts has a “Continue Reading” link. Is that one post breaking the way you set up the excerpt? Also, bear in mind, the excerpt feature only works with certain themes. If your theme does not support excerpts, you can use the More tag instead.

‘Show excerpts on front page’ to Yes.
That setting only applies to what’s used in RSS feeds – it doesn’t affect the display of the site itself.
I’ve enabled the Mobile Theme
Misty Lake is a responsive theme, so it already adapts nicely to devices of all sizes. For that reason, I recommend that you turn off the mobile theme, which is meant for older non-responsive themes that don’t automatically adjust at different screen sizes. You can learn more about theme layouts if you’re interested.
If you’d like to display exceprts on your blog page in Misty Lake, you’ll need to use the More tag on your posts, as ariwinokur mentioned above.
Just let me know if you need help with anything else.

Yes, I hadn’t understood that I didn’t need to turn on the mobile theme.
And I hadn’t understood that the excerpts option only applies to RSS feeds.
And yes, I’d used a ‘more’ tag on the first post just to see how it worked.
Ok, back to drawing board…
Many thanks for your help! -
