Misty theme unformatting
-
My theme, Misty, seems to like to change formatting on me. After I type my edits or a new page, the formatting disappears. Everything is all bunched together with no paragraph breaks or spaces b/w sentences. Also, the type size often decreases after I press “publish”. Any known problems with this?

Are you using Safari? The TinyMCE editor that wordpress uses for writing pages and posts is not fully compatible with Safari and you will find problems in other areas as well.
I would suggest downloading the Firefox or Camino or Flock browsers as they are the most compatible with wordpress.
Firefox: http://en.www.mozilla.com/en/
Camino: http://caminobrowser.org/
Flock: http://www.flock.com/Alternately, you can go to “my profile” in the upper right of your dashboard and uncheck “use visual rich text editor,” click “update profile and then you will be doing all your writing in code view. Some, including myself, find this a little confusing since in addition to the text of your post, you will see all the html code for your formatting.
Another alternative is to use an offline blog editor.

I am using safari. Any ideas for offline blog editors? Using these editors, do I copy and paste then?
Thanks. -
No, with offline blog editors you post directly from the editor. It connects and sends the information, and even uploads images for you. I use Ecto which is not free, but at $20 it doesn’t break the bank either. You can download it and try it to see how you like it.
I’ve never used it, but there is also Marsedit which is around $30: http://www.red-sweater.com/marsedit/
Qumana is a free editor that people seem to like: http://www.qumana.com/download.htm

I’ve tried Blogdesk on my PC but sadly there isn’t a version for Mac yet. Perhaps someday.

I’d almost consider paying money for a Linux version of Blogdesk. And I rarely buy software. That’s how much I love Blogdesk.
