Mistylook Header problems

    OK, newb here…here goes:
Jumped onboard WordPress yesterday. Bought my own site: http://www.scootcute.com. All Paypal fees are showing processed. Set up the initial stuff, chose Mistylook. Bought Edit CSS. Paypal shows processed for this as well. Created an image for the header to the exact size Mistylook wants: 760 X 190. Edited and saved in .jpg format at 72dpi in Photoshop. Tried uploading via the “change header image” with no success. At one point last night this image got the “security” problem. Further attempts led to a blank header box, sometimes with the tiny red “X” box. My media files show it present in WordPress. I uploaded it to my FlickR account. I attempt to also add/edit in CSS. I think I have it in the right spot, but I have the same problems.

Also, when I view the source code, I copy and paste the code into the CSS editor box, just changing the img src. I preview and everything is missing: borders, colors, template in general. The only items present are words and a few margins!

OK, so what am I doing wrong? I want my header image!!! :(

Only put the parts of the CSS that you are actually changing into the CSS edit box and then select “add to existing stylesheet” since what you put in with override those sections of the original stylesheet.

Once you buy the CSS upgrade, the “custom header” upload no longer works and you will have to put the full URL of the image (not a relative URL) into the CSS instead.

Upload the image like you would one that you were going to put into a post and then go to the media library to get the URL of the new header.

I tried uploading the image into the media library from both my computer and from FlickR, but in the media library it shows a small red X in box only by both methods. I do get a full URL when I upload from my computer, but when I preview I get the same small red X and nothing else (?) so when this is loaded into the CSS it does nothing either….

Have you been able to successfully upload images to the blog before this? Have you tried a different browser? Have you tried using the “browser uploader” (link in line of text below the “choose files to upload button”?
