MistyLook Problems
-
Help. I am trying to convert my blog over to the MistyLook theme. When select the MistyLook theme it appears ok in the preview, but when I actually visit the site, it is all jumbled up with no graphics.
A little background, I had some outside modifications done to the Connections theme that I currently use, so my Connections theme isn’t totally 100% stock. However, I am not trying to carry these mods over to the MistyLook theme. I just want to use the standard MistyLook theme, but can’t seem to get it to work properly.
Can someone tell me in layman’s terms what is going on? I don’t know jack squat about CSS, programming, etc so you gotta explain it like I am a five year old. I just want to use the MistyLook theme.
My site is http://www.smartmortgageadvice.com.
Thanks in advance.

The connections theme works fine. However, if I convert it to MistyLook the site becomes all jumbled up. I am trying to convert from connections to mistylook.
I will leave it jumbled for a bit so you can see…

Do you have the CSS upgrade? If so, it is theme-dependent. So you need to clear out everything in the CSS window and check the “Add to existing CSS” radio button and save.
(I would copy the CSS to a text file first, just in case you want to use it again.)

I was having trouble with getting a photo to “stick.” It uploaded fine and I cropped it but when I went to preview, there was nothing there.

Yes, I have the CSS upgrade.
It appears to be a CSS issue. I did what vivian instructed and some of the mistylook installed but not all of it. How do I get back to the default css so Mistylook installs properly? I don’t want to use my old blog or the mods that were made to with CSS.

arteest103 – please don’t hijack this thread. You issue has nothing to do with this. Please start a new thread.
edumakated – I see you’ve changed back to Connections again, limiting our ability as volunteers in the forum to help you. The instructions I gave you are the steps necessary to get back to the default CSS. If you do that and it still looks screwed up, it’s probably because you are looking at a cached version of the site OR because you didn’t clear out all of the CSS in the edit window.
