Mixfolio how do you add text under the post thumbnail on home page

I am useing the Mixfolio theme. On the home page I am wondering if there is a way to add text under the post thumbnail, the post icon…etc… If not, how do I create my own home page and by-pass or direct the home page to my own.

The Mixfolio theme doesn’t support to add text underneath your thumbnails.
How do I create my own home page and by-pass or direct the home page to my own.
