  Per my “one question at a time” promise: Could you please explain to me, step by step, how I am to compose and enter a new POST on my Blog Page?

  A reminder: I open to my Blog by entering Our-Place-In-the-Cosmos in my browser. (Is that correct?) What I see: 1st, a screen with all four Pages- HOME ABOUT CONTACT BLOG in line, with “customize” and “edit,” in dim font. When I click on one of the four, say HOME or ABOUT, I get a screen that can be edited. (I assume only I can make changes?) And, what exactly would a VISITOR enter in their browser to access the my Blog? Thank you Soooooo much. Allan Avery

  Sure! These steps will guide you through the process:

  1. Go to My Sites > <a href=”https://wordpress.com/posts/our-place-in-the-cosmos.com
  “>Blog Posts
  2. Click “Add” (next to “Blog Posts” on the left)
  3. Add your content to the post
  4. Click “Publish”

  When I click on one of the four, say HOME or ABOUT, I get a screen that can be edited. (I assume only I can make changes?)

  That’s right — the edit links are only visible because you are logged into the site. General visitors will not see the option to edit your pages.

  And, what exactly would a VISITOR enter in their browser to access the my Blog?

  They would enter https://our-place-in-the-cosmos.com/ into their browsers address bar.

  Gemma, answer to 2nd Q: Thanks!!! I couldn’t follow the 1st one though: How to put up new Posts on BLOG Page: I opened to my Blog. (What comes up is the one that I can edit, customize, etc.) Clicked My Sites; clicked on our-place-in-the-cosmos. Couldn’t find where to enter blog Posts. Nothing.

  Given that I have almost no IT “intuition” how or where things work, could you please write me a more complete step by step for That? Actually, what I also need is a written basic explanation of how the Blog Page works. (Assuming I get any Visitors at all. :-) Where do my New Posts appear on it? Do they stay there when I add new ones? If visitors Comment, where do they appear? Does a comment form a string on that original Post? Can Posts & Comments be removed? Can old series of Posts and any comments be set aside on the Page? Etc. Thank you and all others sincerely for your help and patience! Allan Avery

  No problem, I’ve written some more detailed steps for you and included screenshots:

  1. Type https://wordpress.com/ in your browser’s address bar
  2. You should then see “Blog Posts” on the left hand menu (screenshot)
  3. Click “Add”, which will open up a brand new post where you can add a title and content (screenshot)
  4. This screenshot shows what you should see when the post editor comes up
  5. Click the “Publish” button when you are ready to publish the post on your site (screenshot)

  Are you able to publish a post following these steps?

  Once you’ve done that, we can work through your other questions.
