MLW Posting Error

  Hello, after no issues with previously publishing from Microsoft Live Writer, I now recieve the following error message when attempting to publish a posting:

  “Error attempting to connect to blog at: https://running4cupcakes.wordpress.com/xmlrpc.php
  The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a send.”

  Again, this problem has only developed within the past few days. Any help would be appreciated.

  Howdy! Can you try this URL for the remote posting web address instead?

  http://running4cupcakes.wordpress.com/xmlrpc.php

  Note the http, instead of https.

  I tried to change the URL in wordpress but it doesn’t let me change it. After I make the changes, it reverts back to the old URL. I even tried un-installing and re-installing windows live writer but even after that, it remembers my blog information and won’t let me re-set anything. Any thoughts or other ideas?

  Hmm. In Windows Live Writer, can you try going to Tools -> Options -> Accounts, then try deleting that account?

  Also, can you confirm that you uninstalled Windows Live Writer with these steps, then installed the latest version of Windows Live Essentials?
