Mobile app is trash, mobile site barely useful

    Hi,

    I’ve been trying to just learn the basics of using WP for the last couple days, and I’m more confused than when I tried to learn any kind of assembly, and more angry than when my first PC died with a project I’d spent months working on and my floppy disk backups were dead from improper handling.

    First, the mobile site is extremely slow to load or respond. Because of that it takes a long time to do anything using it.

    It’s better than the poor excuse for a mobile app though — breaks tags, wants to make a blog post rather than letting me add a new page when I click ‘Create Page’, and obviously also really slow but also even more unresponsive.

    After a few attempts I did some reading and found WP is still using an 8yo version of PHP underneath and doing anything that’s not really simple or supported by a plug-in will be more of a headache than my cluster migraines.

    Basically, I’m just wondering how WP is even still selling this trash to anyone considering they clearly don’t maintain it properly or even care to do so.

    I’m trying to learn it because my boss has a 5yo website that’s using a ‘Hello World’ example page and no business info and it would be my first chance to do some web dev, but at this point I want to tell her to get a refund because it would be 100% easier to build a simple site by hand and maintain it.

    How nice that they added in the only site I currently have as if I want help with that rather than their terrible service in it’s entirety.

    OMG these forum pages are so bad… I think this is the end for you and I, WordPress. Get your crap together.
