Mobile devices

I am trying to ensure that our site is mobile device friendly. I am getting reports that some of the drop down menus are inaccessible – I do not have a smartphone to see this.
I have the Enable mobile device selected as “Yes” but Enable excerpts on front page is “No”. I have read about plugins for the different mobile platforms but as this is a wordpress.com site, assume I cannot use these – or can I? If so, please could you explain how?
I would be very grateful for any help. I am a student learning about IT and have built the site by learning to do what I need from the Support sites – they are excellent – so please don’t assume too much knowledge in your explanation.
Many ThanksThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.com blogs and we blogger cannot install plugins into our blogs.

Thank you Timethief, you have confirmed my understanding re plugins on WP.com. This is the first time I have posted in the forums but I have read your words of wisdom a lot – thank you for them.

You’re welcome. :) I’m sorry I can’t help you with this. I’m hoping another Volunteer or Staff may be able to help you later on.
