'mobile-friendly' display doesn't show images
-
My site is http://echoesfromemptiness.com and the theme is Manifest. I realise you don’t consider this theme to be “responsive”, however at your recent suggestion I checked the site on the Google “mobile-friendly” Test.
The result is that the site is “mobile friendly.” But the images don’t appear.
It says: “This page uses 2 resources which are blocked by robots.txt.”
Is there anything I can do to make the images appear? I have checked the boxes under “appearance/mobile” on my dashboard.
Thanks. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Miriam.
Can you tell me where you’re seeing this error? I wasn’t seeing it after running your site through Google’s mobile-friendly test and also, after viewing your site on my phone, am able to see pictures when clicking through to individual posts. If you can let me know a little more about this error, I’ll be happy to look into it further with you.

Hi @siobhyb
I appreciate your response – many thanks.
When I run the site through Google’s mobile-friendly test, the image they display of my index page on a mobile phone has no images displayed, and the text is not formatted. (I wondered if this is because Manifest doesn’t support ‘featured images’.)
When I look at the site on my iPhone, the index page is the same as Google’s shot. When I click through to the actual posts and pages, the images display and the text is correctly formatted.
I noticed this morning that the WP generated ‘archive’ page does not display at all.
I do realise this is an old theme – I guess I will have to face the music and change to a fully responsive theme. Any suggestions for one as clean and uncomplicated as Manifest?

Your hunch is right that this is due to the way our mobile theme chooses to display the home page. I’m afraid there’s little we can do to change that.

Sure! A couple of really minimalistic, uncluttered themes that come straight to my mind are Minnow and Kelly. You can also filter for free themes that have been tagged a minimal and responsive in our repository here, to cut down your choice a little:

I’d encourage you to have a browse around. :)

Thank you!
I’ve been browsing around. A new question has arisen: If I use a free theme and purchase a Custom Design/Premium Plan, will it only apply to the one blog?
And. If I purchase a Premium theme, would a custom design upgrade apply to just the one blog?
I have a total of 4 WordPress blogs (yes, I’m a fan!) and am considering using the same Premium theme for two of them.
Major reno of my blogosphere happening!

Hi Miriam!
Ah, that’s great! I’m noticing a lot of people taking the chance to give their blogs a makeover lately. Must be Spring. :) If you’re interested we blogged with some tips on this very subject a couple of months ago too:
All of our upgrades are currently purchased on a per-blog basis. So, WordPress.com Premium or a Premium theme would be valid only for the specific blog it was purchased for.
Hope that helps!
