mobile menu

Hello everybody, I’m new to the forum.
I have a problem that I have not been able to solve for a few days. It concerns the menu of my blog when I open it from a smartphone (or tablet).
On the non-mobile site, everything is the way I want it. I created a normal menu (primary) that when I see it from the pc everything is ok but when I see it from the mobile version the menu is not at all in its place and if I open it it becomes impossible to click on the various submenus because it becomes so large that it does not enter on the screen.
I have tried many solutions and plugins that make the site “responsive”, other plugins to add a mobile menu to the site (and these work, except that once I put the mobile menu I removed the normal menu, so on the normal site I no longer have the menu and here I don’t even have the mobile menu).
I then used various plugins for the graphic editor but I was unable to solve this problem.

I do not know if I have explained myself well and I thank anyone who wants to give me a tip.

    Greetings

  • Hi there,

Of what site are you speaking? Using plugins on WordPress.com requires our Business Plan, and your account only owns the free site, https://rcenetsec.home.blog/, that cannot use plugins at all.

Note that this is the support forums for the hosting provider, WordPress.com.

If you’re using the open source WordPress software at another hosting provider, it would be best to contact support for the specific theme you’re using directly for help, as the theme controls the mobile appearance of the site.

For general help with that version of WordPress you can ask the WordPress.org community at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

Hi and thanks for response… the site is:

    Home

with wordpress.com. The other site is old.

  • Ah okay, so I thought it was an issue with your theme, but that one should be mobile friendly by default. If you’ve added extra CSS or plugins, I’d consider troubleshooting those (there’s a healthcheck plugin just for that) to figure out the culprit.

Going forward, for help with thee free WordPress software itself, you’ll also want to use the correct forums for self-managed installations, at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

These forums are actually for the sites hosted by WordPress.com, so you’ll find more relevant answers by searching those forums. And of course you’re welcome to move your site here instead if you’d like. All of our plans include SSL hosting, maintenance, and security. And paid plans include direct support. You can learn more here: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

    Cheers!

ah ok … thanks for the answer but there is one thing I don’t understand. I initially created the blog on wordpress.org (maybe that’s why wordpress.org is listed at the bottom of my site) but then I imported it on a web hosting server with wordpress.com installed and I used the domain of my property. So I thought I’d ask wordpress.com, since then I continued the site with wp.com.
Should I still ask the .org?

  • Your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted elsewhere.

Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. You can find more information here about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

https://wordpress.org/support/ is a great resource for sites using the open source WordPress.org software, and you can find support for that at: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

And, you can find your theme’s support at https://wordpress.org/support/theme/twentytwentyone/

  • I see you have a thread over at https://wordpress.org/support/topic/mobile-menu-207/

Someone will reply there as soon as they can.
