Mobile Menu Close on Click: Assembler Theme
-
I’m building a simple single page website using the Assembler theme + Page Scroll to ID plug-in. My nav uses anchor links to ease down the page, which works great on desktop, but not on mobile. When you click any of the links in the expanded hamburger menu the site scrolls in the background but you can’t see it or get back to the site without clicking the x to close the menu. How do I make it so the nav menu closes automatically when a link is clicked?
I’ve searched here and the .org forums and there are a handful of similar answers but all appear to be specific to other themes (Elementor, Astra) and require adding custom JS. 1) I don’t see a place to add JS in the assembler theme editor files (only .css and .php files included) and 2) I’m not sure how to make the existing examples work for Assembler (can they be translated to CSS or PHP? Is there a place to add JS I’m not seeing? I’m 100% not a coder).
Appreciate any help for a quick / simple solution.

Howdy!
http://smbpcomdev.wpenginepowered.com/ is not hosted at WordPress.com, so we cannot assist with it. We can only offer support to sites hosted on WordPress.com. I do see what you mean by the menu staying up on the mobile view. That isn’t happening on your site built on WordPress.com. You could try comparing the options from here to there.
Otherwise, have you considered using our hosting services instead so we can offer more direct support?
Thanks!
