Mobile-optimised sites
-
Hello! I’ve designed my site on WordPress, and it looks good on mobile preview (when I click the mobile icon while designing it on desktop)… but when I look at it on an iPhone, it’s not optimised at all. Do you know what I can do to make sure it’s mobile optimised? Thanks so much for any advice!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Nellfane,
It looks like the theme you are using (Matala) has been retired and it is also not a responsive theme.
The best thing to do is to select a theme that is up to date and also responsive.
Upon searching the forums here, I found this post from a staff member (kathrynwp) that you may find helpful:
Themes that adjust automatically to mobile devices are called responsive themes. All our newer themes built in the last couple of years are responsive, but older themes, such as Matala and Mystique, are not.
You can see all our responsive themes here:
Free – https://wordpress.com/themes/filter/responsive-layout/type/free/
Premium – https://wordpress.com/themes/filter/responsive-layout/type/premium/
I hope this helps!

Thank you so much for the speedy response.
I think my profile might be linking to the wrong site? But the (free) theme I am using is Blask. I think that one is a new one and should be responsive? Any further thoughts on why it isn’t responsive would be hugely appreciated.
Thanks so much for your help! -

Hi! It’s: http://www.nellfane.com (the original wordpress URL is: https://nellfanesite.wordpress.com/)
Thank you again! -
It looks like the frame on the website is what is causing this. If you go to https://nellfanesite.wordpress.com/ it works fine on mobile.
However, http://www.nellfane.com/ doesn’t seem to be registered or hosted at wordpress.com. It is showing https://nellfanesite.wordpress.com inside of a frame tag which seems to be causing the issue.
I also believe that in HTML5 the <frame> tag is deprecated.
Have you thought about moving your domain over to wordpress.com?

Ah okay! Thank you so much for the advice. Is moving the domain to wordpress.com easy to do? Sorry, am new to all this!

No problem at all. It is fairly straightforward but it does require a upgraded plan.

Alternatively, you could contact your web host for http://www.nellfane.com and see if there is any solution they can help you with. I hope that helps!
