Mobile redirect question

So Google has updated their algorithms ranking mobile friendly websites higher than non-mobile friendly pages so I have this question:
If I use a redirect program to forward people to a different url like m.mysite.com will that literally split my traffic between the two pages making my overall web stats less appealing?

Hi there! This type of redirect isn’t something you can do on WordPress.com. However most of our themes are responsively designed, meaning that they’re mobile ready.
I took a look at your self hosted site kushables.com, and you theme is already responsive! Which means its optimized for viewing on mobile devices and will pass Google’s mobile check:
