mobile theme displaying incorrectly
-
Hi!
I have just recently switched to the theme Traveler, and it looks great on PC. However my mobile version doesn’t seem to have adjusted to the new theme, and I’ve tried all the settings in mobile appearance, but it hasn’t changed from the default.
Is there something I can do to correct this?
Thank you

Hey there – I just checked your site on my iPhone and in Chrome using emulation in the dev tools and the mobile theme seems to be loading just fine over here.
For what it’s worth, the traveller theme is a responsive design so there’s no need to enable the mobile theme at all, if you don’t want to.

Great! thanks for taking the time to see if it worked.
I’ve disabled the specific mobile options, and it seems to work much better now on my device. Thank you :)

sorry, just have another question.
I find that in the mobile theme, my top menu overlaps my blog title/header. Is there a way to correct this or is it just my device again? If i use the drop down menu then it’s ok, but if I choose to have social media links in the top corner it doesn’t sit correctly in mobile. Do you have any tips on how to get around this?

Hi, not a problem. I’m not familiar with the traveler theme, but I looked at the official demo and the menus appear to be different than yours. The mobile menu’s (drop downs on phones) do not appear to kick in on your site.
When you mention, “if I use the drop down menu it is okay” – do you mean that you have the option to display or not display your mobile menu?
If you have the custom design add on you could write some custom CSS to fix up the display. Are you comfortable with that? If not, I don’t mind helping you.
Do you have the customization add on, that allows you to add css to your theme?
If so, are you comfortable adding a couple of lines of CSS?

Responsive layout means the the layout adapts depending on the size of the device being used to view your site. When responsive width themes are viewed on mobiles the sidebars appear below the posts in order to provide as much space as possible for reading.
The mobile theme is a completely different theme. When using a responsive layout theme like Traveler we disable the Mobile theme at > Appearance > Mobile

@timethief, no worries – I was just going to mention that I think there might be some confusion.
bloggingspace123 said “the mobile theme” but she isn’t using the separate mobile theme, she’s referring to the responsive layout.

Hi guys
You’re right sorry. I’m not too familiar with the terminology, but I have disabled the mobile theme in the settings, and am just viewing my blog via a mobile device to check it all works.I have two menu setups at the moment – one is a mobile drop down menu and second one doesn’t become a drop down but kind of squashes on the side of my blog title on a mobile device. I’ll have a look at CSS as I’m not too familiar with it but I do have that function in the customize box. I’ll let you know how it goes – thank you :)
