You are using an older theme and consequently you have to enable the mobile theme (a completely different theme) at > Dashboard > Appearance > Mobile

You can read more in the support docs at https://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/mobile-themes/

You can test your site at this link https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/mobile-friendly/

NOTE: My recommendation is to switch to a responsive layout theme instead. The mobile ready theme is a default theme and a completely different theme that you do not need to enable at all, if your theme is listed as a responsive layout theme here https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/responsive-layout/ Its’ provided for those who run older themes that aren’t the gold standard which is responsive layout.

A responsive layout theme adapts to different screen sizes so that your website will work (and be optimized for) iPhones, iPads, Android and other mobile devices. When responsive width themes are viewed on mobiles sidebars appear below the posts in order to provide as much space as possible for reading.

When we use a responsive theme we disable the mobile theme. Go to > Appearance > Mobile and disable the mobile theme

    re: changing themes
Themes are just “skins” on WordPress.COM hosted blogs. You can quickly and easily change themes on any WordPress.COM hosted blog to another one found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and no data will be lost or negatively affected by the change. The only time you may have to do some work is if you are changing to a dramatically different theme and have done any CSS editing.

Provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the blog go to Dashboard > Appearance > Themes, Browse themes until you find one you like and click the “activate” or the “preview” link, or type in the name of the theme you want to use when it appears.

The theme customizer https://en.support.wordpress.com/customizer/ provides a preview function for exactly that purpose ie. so you can view what a theme will appear like prior to changing one.

For changing themes see here https://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/#switch-themes

Every theme has detailed theme description page with set up instructions like this one https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/sapor/ and a live demo site like this one http://sapordemo.wordpress.com/

Thank you. I think the sites i was using to view my blog on mobile dimensions were the problem. It’s displaying correctly on the Google site you gave me a link to, so i assume that’s the correct appearance. Thanks again.
