Hi!
Are you referring to how the mobile version of the site chooses to feature the top portion of the photos as opposed to the center/bottom portion as shown here?
That’s some styling that is being applied to the gallery on smaller screens. Changing this would be a bit tricky. Instead of going that route, I would recommend setting up the Sketch theme home page as shown here:
https://wordpress.com/themes/sketch
That way, the images should appear in full size as shown here:
Can you give that a try?

Hi again
I created a portfolio and then remembered why I went for a gallery instead – I just can’t get a portfolio to work or show on the homepage, plus they look like this:
http://noaparis.com/portfolio/navidad/
:/You mentioned styling that is being applied to the gallery on smaller screens, is there a way to change this?
I went for the SKETCH theme because it was suppose to be mobile friendly, so I really hope to get the gallery working on mobiles
Thanks again for the help!

I created a portfolio and then remembered why I went for a gallery instead – I just can’t get a portfolio to work or show on the homepage, plus they look like this:
http://noaparis.com/portfolio/navidad/The actual items in your portfolio will look like this:
http://noaparis.com/portfolio/
It looks like you’ve added another gallery within the portfolio item shown here:
http://noaparis.com/portfolio/navidad/
For this to work a bit better, I would suggest adding each individual item as a portfolio item rather than creating categories like “Navidad” and inserting a gallery within that portfolio category. Does that make sense?
It looks like you’re making home decor and gift ideas (which look awesome by the way!). You would want to create a portfolio item for each item on your home page here:
Then, within each individual item, you would want to put some additional details about that item. So, this information would be inserted within the portfolio item:
http://noaparis.com/2014/12/16/magico-trozo-de-madera-placa-rustica/magic-wood/
Does that help to clarify?
Once we get this all setup, I can help you to make this portfolio page your home page.
You mentioned styling that is being applied to the gallery on smaller screens, is there a way to change this?
It is possible, but the images are going to appear really cramped. Here’s an example:
I don’t think it would be easy for your customers to pick out the different items on your home page.
I really think setting this up as a portfolio is going to be a much better option.
However, if you would like to go the styling route, you’ll need to purchase the Premium bundle shown here:
That will allow you to use Custom CSS so we can give this styling a shot!

Hola! :)
Thanks for that, much appreciated, and I think I understand what I need to do.Starter the portfolio http://noaparis.com/portfolio/ (only 20 more entries to go :/ )
You mentioned it can be used as the homepage, do you know if the right nav bar will be able to stay?
Also I tried the short-code but it keeps telling me the ‘archive is empty’.. think I’m missing a trick ..PS: I genuinely don’t think WP should be advertising Sketch as a responsive theme tho!

You mentioned it can be used as the homepage, do you know if the right nav bar will be able to stay?
The top menu will stay. However, once we set the Portfolio as the home page, the sidebar will not stay. I’ve taken a screenshot documenting the difference:
Instructions to set the home page as the portfolio can be found here under “Portfolio Page Template.”
https://wordpress.com/themes/sketch/
Also I tried the short-code but it keeps telling me the ‘archive is empty’.. think I’m missing a trick ..
Could you let me know what shortcode you’re referring to? If you’re referring to the portfolio shortcode, please follow the steps above instead!

This shortcode
[portfolio display_types=true display_tags=false include_type=benvinguts,amo-el-mar columns=3 showposts=10 orderby=title]
I followed the steps https://noaparis.files.wordpress.com/2014/12/ex1.jpg
and placed it on http://noaparis.com/personalizados/so that only certain portfolio items will appear, however, it seems to be wiping out the formatting of the theme and gives me this error:
Your Portfolio Archive currently has no entries. You can start creating them on your dashboard.

Think I got it!
short code seems to work now and items are showing
Almost there …
I don’t suppose there is a way to add my comments on the homepage? -

You should be able to add comments within the text area of the page here:
https://noaparis.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=426&action=edit
Looks like you were able to get that setup here:
Were you able to get the look you want?

Sorry … I mean comments left by other people, like at the bottom of this page:
http://noaparis.com/9euro-collection/
I had loads on my homepage incl. feedback/reviews, since having the portfolio as a homepage they are no longer visible, and not sure if there is a way to bring them over, even if it means copying them over one by one manually, or even have new ones ….
-
Hi!
Comments are available on individual portfolio items like this one:
http://noaparis.com/portfolio/christmas-kitten-bluebell/
However, they will not be transferred from previous posts to the new portfolio projects. So, if you have an old post that has comments, and you have now made that post into a portfolio project, you would need to manually enter the comment again.
As far as comments displaying on the main portfolio homepage, they will only display on single-post pages, not the home page.
