Modal Overlay for EU Cookie Law Compliance

This screenshot is why I believe WPcom could offer a solution for those members who need to comply with the EU Cookie Law requirement. (screenshot)
Currently, the “Internet Defense League” widget, gives you the option of a modal overlay. It can be dismissed by clicking on the X in the upper right corner. There are also additional options for giving and receiving information within the overlay itself.
Hoping one of the Code Gardeners at WordPress.com is working on creating a similar “accept/reject cookie” widget for the many European community members that need it.

Thanks @justjennifer! It’s definitely something we’re looking into. For now, the text widget option still applies (explaining below for anyone that finds this and is not familiar), but a better solution is on our radar.
Text Widget Option:
For now – since sites hosted at WordPress.com do make use of cookies, you may like to flag this fact for visitors to your site. One way to do this is to add a text widget to your side bar and include a link to our privacy policy (which contains information on the cookies that we use). You might also inform your visitors that they can refuse all cookies by changing the settings of their browsers.
