[Modality free theme] modifications to the Get Started Section

  ’m building a website using the free Modality theme (version 1.0.5), and would like to make the following modification to the Get Started section of the theme. In this section, you have three text fields: Title text, subtitle text, and button text. Is there a way that I could modify this section so that each time the page was loaded, the section would reference a table of text entries, and select one at random to display in the Title text field? I’d like for the website to display a different thought provoking quote each time it was loaded.

  Is this possible? If so, then how can I do it? I’m very new to wordpress.

  I found a theme called Modality in the WordPress.org repository here:

  Is the above the theme you’re using? If so, it’s likely that your site is hosted outside of WordPress.com and running on the free software available over at WordPress.org.

  The difference between the two types of WordPress (WordPress.com and WordPress.org) is an understandable and common point of confusion. If you’re unsure of the differences, then this guide gives a good overview.

  As your site is hosted elsewhere, staff here at WordPress.com aren’t in the best position to help with further questions. Instead, I recommend the WordPress.org support forum:

  Thanks for your response, siobhyb. Yes, that’s the correct theme. Yes, my site will be hosted elsewhere (currently it’s installed locally via xammp for testing). Yes, I posted a question at wordpress.org. However my post there generated no responses, so I thought that I’d ask here.

  I’ll contact vpthemes to see what they say. My initial thought was that as this is the free version of the theme, vpthemes may not be interested in helping me. Oh well, it never hurts to ask.

  Many theme providers will give some basic steps for customising your theme and help point you in the right direction. :) Hope you’re able to get the help you need from VP Themes!
