moderate contact

  i am getting an email asking me to moderate ‘contact’ every time i create a new post. this is because i link to my contact page on every post.

  how do i disable this? i understand moderating comments is a good thing and i think its tied to this but i dont want constant emails everytime i link to my contact page.

  i get that … but i am not commenting on my posts – i am linking to them just like one would in blogger and that doesnt go through as a comment for moderation, yet it does here? a comment is a comment – a link is a link

  although having said that and thinking it through does this mean that anyone who links to my wordpress post or page comes through to me as a comment to moderate?

  Yes, any link to a specific page or post will generate a comment like that. It’s called a pingback. You can disable them if you want, but most people like to keep them up.

  thanks for taking the time to bear with me ! …

  is it good for me ??? ie pingbacks and website regarding visbility in the big wide world of www ? i wouldnt have thought my own pings would be looked upon kindly … :)

  Self-pings don’t look great, but pings from other people DO, so as long as you’ve checked out that it’s not a spam site, approve those.
