  I know you can moderate comments on wordpress.com, but can you moderate posts? If not, this woudl be a good new featyre.

  Certainly.
  Dashboard => Options => Discussion
  Complete the fields on this page by marking the checkboxes as required and be sure to click “Update Options” to save your changes.
  N.B. Take special note of this section:
  E-mail me whenever:
  ___ * Anyone posts a comment
  ___ * A comment is held for moderation
  Before a comment appears:
  ___ * An administrator must always approve the comment
