Moderating Comments?

  Hi, We have been getting emails for months asking us [Blue Hill Farm]’To Moderate Comments’ I have no idea what it is asking us to do because I did not think we allow any comments on our site

  Is the site you are referring to bluehillfarm.us?

  (If that’s not the site you are referring to, ignore the rest of this reply.)

  If yes, I gather that it is an externally/self-hosted WordPress website. Before proceeding, may I gently note here that this forum at WordPress.com is intended to be used for sites directly hosted with the WordPress.com platform.
  For externally hosted WordPress websites, the appropriate support forum is https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

  I see that the comment form is indeed shown on some of the pages on your website, particularly at the bottom of the ‘Wedding Gallery’ posts. This might be from where you are receiving comments. You may check those posts’ settings and disable “Allow comments” checkbox to prevent receiving any new comments.

  As for the comments that may already be in your “Under moderation” queue, you may either ignore them or delete them all, based on your preference.

  If there are a large number of posts, you may benefit from using the “Bulk edit” feature to turn off comments for multiple posts in one go.

  You can also disable comments for all future posts by default, by unchecking the “Allow people to submit comments on new posts” option at “Settings > Discussion”.
