Moderating Pingbacks

  Why do I have to moderate my own pingbacks when I put a link to one of my own posts?
  On my Discussion-Settings page, I have marked “Comment author must have a previously approved comment” and anyone who has commented before gets straight in. But my own pingbacks have to be moderated every time?
  Why is that? Is there another setting somewhere?
