moderation

    Hi
I hope someone can help me.
I first set up a blog for my primary school class and it was working really well. Children were replying to it and blogging themselves.
I’ve just noticed that when i leave a comment it stays on the blog page and says “your comment is awaiting moderation”. As you will understand i’d rather the whole comment come to me first before it was published.
Is there any way of doing this so that all comments are checked by me first then published? I don’t want any part of the comments on the blgs before i have checked them
    I hope that makes sense!
    Many Thanks

As far as I know, a person who’s not an administrator won’t be able to see the comment unless they’re the person who wrote the comment.

If you want to leave a quick test comment on my blog I’ll be happy to check.

It makes perfect sense that you don’t want any comment to go through without moderation! The thing is, you are the admin of your blog, but not any of your students blogs. At least it seems that way. They have comment moderation on if your comment says ‘your comment is in moderation’ and that means that they (as admin of their blog) have to approve the comment before it is published. You could ask your class to be added as an admin to all their blogs if you want, but that would be the only way to get all the comments emailed to you before they are displayed on the blog.

    Hi
I’m just replying to Trent (Moderator), thanks for your reply.
As I’m new to Blogging I don’t think i fully explained what my problem was!
My class and I have one wordpress account which i use to blog on to my class and my class use to blog on (I log them in whenever they want to blog). I check the children’s blogs before they are published. The problem is when they are at home and are replying to my blogs using the comments pages they go straight onto the blog page. I’d rather the children’s comments come to me first so i can moderate them and then allow them on the blog pages. When i first received comments to my blogs i had to moderate them but now i don’t.I really hope that all this makes sense and once again sorry for any inconvenience

In your dashboard, go to ‘Options -> Discussion’ and ensure that the box marked ‘An administrator must always approve the comment’ is checked. To approve or reject comments so that they can be published on your blog, you’d then go to the comments panel.

Note that the person who has actually posted the comment can still see it while it is in moderation, but it will not be visible to anyone else other than the administator.
