Modern Business Theme Not Allowing Featured Image on Blog Page

I am using the Modern Business theme. My home page and links page allow me to add a Featured Image, which serves as a background for the page, with all the elements over the top. I chose a blue overlay. I was really happy with the way it looks.

However, my “Blog” page, which is where my posts are pulled, has an option for Featured Image, and I’ve got an image in there, but it will not show up on the page. Honestly, the blog page looks like crap compared to the rest of the site, because of this — just a white background with text. If I can’t figure out how to fix it, I’m going to have to switch themes and start all over again.

Also, within the WP Admin dashboard, if I edit the page attributes in there and click “Preview” it shows a different version of the page each time I click. One click will show a version similar to what’s on my homepage below the fold, and the next click will show the actual page you get when you go to the blog-specific URL. How do you edit when your previewer is showing you two different pages?? Website is NaptowntoNOLA.com.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi, the blog page will show images from posts, so it’s not designed to show its featured image as a full-size background.

You can add a section header to the blog page if you’d like, though. Something like this would work fine:
