I just purchased Modern News. How do I get the the categories on top (the one in blue right over the article about Johnny Depp in the Theme Showcase – see link below). And witch widget area should I use to get the coxes under (“Today Headline” and “Feature Music” or “Feature Images” in the Showcase). And also, how do I get the search bar to go on top, to the right of the header? I get that the things in the right column is “Primary Sidebar” in widgets. But when I put something in “Home Top” it just pushes all my blog content all the way down. Same with “Home Middle Left”, “Home Middle Right” and “Home Bottom”. None of the widget seems to make the theme to look like the showcase …
And finally, the “Home Category” where you click and automatically get back to the front page seems to have disappear when I added my top menus in the black field at the top.

Your theme is a premium theme and we Volunteers answering questions on this forum have no knowledge of how they are designed to operate. When you purchased your premium theme what came with that purchase was support directly from the theme designer in the Premium Theme Support Forum. There is a link for the specific Premium Theme support forum under Appearance -> Themes in your blog’s Dashboard

Create a custom menu and include Categories in it.
