Modification of function in child theme folder file – Hestia

  • Unknown's avatar

I’m using the Hestia theme on my website, with a child theme called Hestia-Child. The child theme is working properly with the style.css and functions.php files.

I want to modify a function related to social media sharing that is native to the theme itself. However, this modification can only be made through the file located in subfolders within the parent theme. The file structure in the parent theme folder is as follows: themes/hestia/inc/views/blog/class-hestia-additional-views.php

I created the same file structure in the child theme, already with the modification I need in the file. However, the modification was ignored by the theme. I would like to know how to proceed.

The file structure in the child theme folder looks like this: themes/hestia-child/inc/views/blog/class-hestia-additional-views.php

Does anyone have experience with this theme? Who can help me?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

I understand that you’re looking for assistance with the Hestia theme. While I would love to help you, the best place for you to get the support you need is from the theme’s official support forum at https://wordpress.org/support/theme/hestia/

In addition to the theme’s own support forum, you can also post your questions in the WordPress.org support forums at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/. They have a wealth of experience across a wide range of themes and can be an invaluable resource.

To clarify, we’re WordPress.com, the hosting provider. We can provide support for sites that are hosted on our platform and for our own themes.
