modify meta tag

  Hello,

  When I share the home-page of my blog on facebook, the description is ‘By Antoine P.’. I read that the meta tag can change the description text in facebook and in google. How can I change it?

  Users at WordPress.com are not given access to add meta tags. However, you can verify your site with Google through their Webmaster tools which can help to provide some additional information about your site traffic. Steps to do that can be found here:

  Hello Antoine,

  Unfortunately, WordPress.com does not allow changing meta-descriptions in blogs.

  However, when you share your blog’s link in Facebook, you can manually change the link’s description in the share-box. When you paste the blog’s link in your Facebook’s status bar – a short preview of your link-share would be displayed. All you have to do is to click on the preview to edit it and add a description of your choice there. Here’s a screenshot of the same. http://imgur.com/81LxndU
