Modifying a search link in menu in Nishita theme

  Hi,

  I’m using the Nishita theme and I have a search link in the menu bar (I used aquanhaphoto.com as a model). It works OK, but I think it’s going to get unwieldy as I add posts. What I’d really like is for the search results to appear as thumbnail photos and a title the way they do in the Archive drop down menu. Is this possible, and if so, how do I do it?
