Modifying home page: summary of latest posts

I would like to have a summary of 4 latest posts on my home page, two side by side and 2 on top of each other (I have a bilingual blog so ideally I’d like to have 2 latest Finnish posts on top of each other and 2 latest English posts on top of each other).
They layout for the summary could be something similar to this: http://one-penny-trip.com/
How could I have it on my home page so that it would automatically update the latest posts on my home page? I tried to figure out the CSS I could use but I’m too beginner for that! :)

Sorry if I wasn’t clear enough. My question was how can I do it in Sundance theme?
I don’t know the correct way of displaying the posts on the home page, whether it is html, a widget or CSS. I have tried to find the answer on the forum as well as by googling, but any snippet I’ve tried won’t work. So my question is not what is the correct CSS code for it but what is the correct way of doing it? :)

Your theme does not have a two-column layout for displaying posts, so the only way to make posts display on your homepage that way is to edit the CSS, if it is possible at all. The people in the CSS customization forum will be able to tell you.
