Hi,
I created sometimes ago a ID which was @hortensefarbiel and closed it.
I would like to use this ID again but it is not avalaible : “sorry, this username already exists”
but I can’t find it in search…Can you do anything about that ?
Thank you for your help.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

An account can be restored within 30 days after deletion. Once the 30 days have passed, all of your sites and account data are purged and cannot be restored.

Hi @pausescripturale
@staartmees is correct; 30 days after an account is deleted it can no longer be restored and the username cannot be used again. More detail on that here https://wordpress.com/support/close-account/#account-restoration -
Hi,
But if the account data are really purged, why can’t I (or anyone else) use it again ? -
-
In case you don’t click through, the reason is:
While all data associated with an account is removed during a closure, the username is blocked from being registered again, in order to prevent impersonation.
Therefore we won’t “release” the username for use again – it’s permanently blocked from reuse.
Hope that clarifies things.

helper-heroponriki,
the username is blocked from being registered again, in order to prevent impersonation.
If a user who previously had a username aims to use that username again, how would that be impersonation?

There is no way to prove that the new person registering the username is the same person who previously held the username.
