modlook invites blocked – how to unblock?

    modlook my account is not accepting blog invites – please help! username: pennwic on wordpress.com

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    My wordpress username is vedantha and I am trying to add people with the wordpress usernames of pennwic1, caitlinshanley and mleesullivan to a new blog at http://diglit2013.wordpress.com/ and all the invites are rejected saying that “Invitation not sent, the user has blocked invite emails.”. The people have assured me that they are not blocking invites and they are not able to find any odd settings to change. All of them are successfully part of a similar site we set up last year. Thanks for your help.

    What you describe happens because the user in question previously blocked WordPress.com from sending them invitation emails, which are different from the notification sent when a new blog post is published.

    You can confirm whether someone blocked invite email under Users > Invite New in your blog admin – it will say “Blocked” under “Actions” for previously invited users, or you won’t be able to invite them at all.

    Here are the instructions you can ask users to follow for unblocking invite emails:

    On https://subscribe.wordpress.com/ enter the email address used on WordPress.com and click on “Request details”.
    You will receive an email titled “[Subscribe] Your Subscription Details” containing a link looking something like this: https://subscribe.wordpress.com/?key=a111b222&email=wp%wp.com (sample link only)
    Copy that link in your browser address and add &unsub_invites&option=cancel at the end.
    You should get a line that looks like https://subscribe.wordpress.com/?key=a111b222&email=wp%wp.com&unsub_invites&option=cancel — click the enter or return key to load it.
    A confirmation message will appear: “You will now receive invite emails again at (email visible only to moderators and staff). To stop receiving them, click here”.

    Once this is done, the user will be able to receive invite emails again.
