Modlook, Password Reset Problem
-
Well I agree everyone needs some timeout and WordPress is indeed great, however…….I am locked out of my blog because lost password/ password reset is not working today. I can request a new password and I get a confirmation message sent to me but then after the confirm URL back to WordPress I do not receive a new temp password as it indicates that I should.
I had to create a new blog FrustratedPassword and a new email account to even post this message to you in a forum. Please check this problem out. I urgently need access as the semester is starting tomorrow and I need this blog up and running.
Thanks,
Tim

my wordpress blog below was not a choice among the pull down menu selections
here it is
museumdesignlab.wordpress.com/ -
This is the email that I receive when asking to reset password;
Someone has asked to reset the password for the following site and username.
Username: museumdesignlab
To reset your password visit the following address, otherwise just ignore this email and nothing will happen.
https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=rp&key=AWDlSyBnkuzLrHxiAnWi&login=museumdesignlab
I click on the link above and am sent back to WordPress which tells me to then wait for a new password to be sent to me. No password ever comes. I think there is a problem with automation. Pls attend to this and send me a new password at my email as indicated on the a account.
Thanks Tim

Be aware that posting in the forums here connects you to your fellow bloggers who volunteer to answer questions. We have no access to the power workings of WordPress.Com.
You can only ask for such help from Support:

They are monitoring such questions. But you may have to wait.(Here is a clickable link to the blog in question:

I would expect that the reset messages are going to your Spam file. That happens a LOT. Check there, in your email spam folder.
-
Understood that other bloggers can help but hey thanks for chiming in! I cant get any WordPress support through Support page as they have indicated they are on leave for a week! I am hoping there is some monitoring.
Its not a spam problem as I have received automated emails from WordPress’s Forgot Password mail server. Just not the one I need! It does not seem to complete the request.
-
I have to reiterate: the emails are different. They have been known to go to different places. Have you actually looked in your Spam folder?
-
Yes I have looked in my spam bin. I also whitelisted wordpress.com on my server. Also I did receive emails from WordPress earlier today. As far as I can tell its not a problem on my end but my IT guy will check it out tomorrow. Thanks for hanging in w me.
-
@frustratedpassword, I have sent you an email asking you to verify the blog URL, username, and email on the account where you’re having trouble so we can help you take a look.
-
OK raincoaster was right on the problem. My IT dept had switched over to a new mailserver and for some reason the Password Reset email came through but the second email containing New Password was blocked at the mailserver (not in Spam). This is strange because they both come from the same WordPress mailserver which is whitelisted. In any case, I am back online!
Thanks for all your help.
