Modularity Lite theme

  I am very new to all of this, so please bear with me.
  I want to use WordPress as a website. I have chosen the Modularity Lite theme.
  The HOME page is aweful. And I can’t seem to figure out how to change it. I want to change the font, and I would like to add a slide show.
  How do I do that?

  There are two ways to change fonts throughout the blog.
  (1) Changing font families (not colors or sizes) using TypeKit Fonts. http://typekit.assistly.com/customer/portal/articles/6840-using-typekit-with-wordpress-com

  (2) Changing all font families, colors and sizes throughout the blog by purchasing an annually renewable CSS editing upgrade and doing the work yourself. http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-css/
