Moka theme custom front page widgets

  Hi,
  I’ve set home as the custom frontpage and would like to have the frontpage widgets appear there. Like a large picture on top of the page, a link to the about page and some other stuff. I tried to add these things to the widget area, but nothing appears on the homepage. Which template should I choose for the widgets to appear? Or is there something else that I should do?
