Moka theme front page slider

  I have the Moka theme.
  I have a static fixed ‘Welcome’ page, using the default template. This is set as ‘Front page displays’ in the Reading Settings.
  Next, I have another page called ‘Gallery’, using the Moka ‘Front Page Slider’ template. This is set as the ‘Posts page’ in the Reading Settings.
  I have created a couple of test posts and applied the category ‘Gallery’ to them. These posts are displayed on the Gallery page but stacked vertically. How do I make them appear in the horizontal slider format?

  Hello there, Laura!

  Thanks for your note.

  If you want to use the Front Page Slider template, you have to use that as your front page. You cannot use that template as an internal page.

  You can adjust your Welcome (front) page, accordingly, if you want that slider.

  For more setup information for Moka, this might help, if you haven’t already seen it:

  You can follow the instructions from top to bottom, and it should help quite a bit!

  Thanks for your reply.

  Unfortunately, I specifically want the slider page to be an internal page and not the welcome page. The template is called ‘Front Page Slider’ but I assumed it was more flexible than that. Can I cancel this template purchase? I’ll need to start over and find a template that does what I need.

  Ah…I see. No problem, I canceled the theme for you and refund the cost.

  If you are interested in an internal slider, I’m also wondering if you might find this useful:

  Take a look at both the Carousel information, and the Slideshow section. While these show images, rather than posts, they may be of interest to you!

  I followed the instructions in the link and created a slideshow gallery in my page called ‘Gallery’, with 3 test images in it. I changed the template from ‘Front Page Slider’ to ‘Default Template’. I saved/updated. However, when I click View Page, it looks just the same as it did before – 2 images vertically stacked. What am I doing wrong?

  Hi there Laura,

  You haven’t yet changed your Gallery page to reflect content. You still have the old settings which display your latest posts.

  Make the adjustment by clicking the link below:

  Click Front. You’ve chosen a static front page, but where you see Posts page, you want change from Gallery to “–Select–.” Then, save your changes.

  If eventually you’d like to have a posts page, you can do so. Here’s how:
