Hello –
WordAds is our exclusive advertising for WordPress.com. Upgrading to WordPress.com Personal will give you a custom domain credit. You’ll need a custom domain to submit your WordAds application.
Upgrading to WordPress.com Premium would allow you to bypass the application process and you can simply turn on the ads.
More information on advertising can be found here.
Let me know if I an answer any other questions about this.

Thanks for the quick reply. I would like to clarify what is considered moderate to high traffic . How many visits a day will be considered moderate traffic so that I could apply for monetisation using personal plan?
Thanks -
Hello –
While we are unable to disclose the traffic requirements of WordAds, keep in mind that this is something that can be waived via our WordPress.com Personal or Business Plan.
If you are in a hurry to join WordAds, I’d suggest upgrading your plan.
Otherwise, you can keep adding quality and original content to your site to help it grow
Here are some tips to increase traffic on your site:

Hello agreenerlifeagreenerworld –
When you login to your WordPress.com account find and click on My Sites in the upper left corner of the screen.
When your dashboard loads, the second item from the top, is Plans, click on that. Scroll to the bottom right of the next page and you should find the option to turn on WordAds. You’re looking for a blue button labeled ‘Start Earning.’

Thanks for this, that worked.
Just one question, my settings seems to be in $, but I’m based in the UK. How do I change that to £?
Thanks,
Anders
