Monetizing
-
I would like to begin a Christmas campaign and sell my Christmas and Gospel CDs for the holidays. Then I want to begin blogging my music life history that next rolls into my 20 year solo career, the making of my first CD and the following ones. I can do this on Bandzoogle but I want to own my own content again and start monetizing my site. I have not been very active online since I hosted my three websites and started using Bandzoogle. Being an artist and publisher, I would kindly be interested in your thoughts for this process in order to fully utilize my sites and bring in all other auxiliary sources and cohesively tie them together and begin.

Hi –
It sure sounds like the managed hosting environment from WordPress.com is the right option for this next step. Congrats and Welcome!
You can maintain a blog or professional website, and a store on the same site. That’s not a problem. We do not claim any ownership on your content either. You always own that. I do have some follow up questions.
Will you plan on selling anything in addition to the CDs? Any merchandise? Music lessons? We have extensive ecommerce options built in and these details will help us get you headed in the right direction with looking at the different options available.
Do you already own a custom domain for the project? I’d highly suggest that you register a custom domain rather than using the free option. This will help you build a more professional web presence.
Will you use email for this project/business to communicate with followers?
These answers are going to help us, help you, figure out the right hosting plan. Those are on https://wordpress.com/pricing/ if you’re curious.
