Monetizing a WordPress.com Site?

  My blog and sites are set up in wordpress.com formats. It seems though that opportunities for a relative newcomer to monetize their site are very limited in this format. Is it possible or advisable to switch a wordpress.com site to a wordpress.org site? Thanks for being patient with a newbie.

  In general, WordPress.com is not set up for those for whom monetization is a significant concern. Switching to a self-hosted WordPress site might be a good plan if that is something that you find to be of crucial importance for your site.
