monkey tree found growing on the coast of Oregon..any one knows of this tree??

I have watched a tree grow (not in Broklyn) for over 30 years…on the Oregon coast…..has anyone heard of the monkey tree ??….can it grow there…where did it come from..YES I have tried to find out ……googled it etc…..if I could with this limited site I would add a picture….to find out how….where it came from ….

If it’s growing there and has been for over 30 years, why are you asking if it CAN grow there? I’m on cold medicine and this post is unspeakably amusing to me in this mood.

Monkey trees, btw, AKA monkey Puzzle trees, are Asian, but were brought over in the Nineteenth Century and seeded along the West Coast of North America. They are called monkey puzzle trees because they are a kind of cross between an evergreen and a cactus and monkeys cannot climb them. They’re not that pretty, but they are weird looking.
