Monotone colours

I’m using the monotone theme for photoblogging and it works perfect for me. The only thing is the automatic choice of background colour for the pictures. Is there any way you can change the background colour? I wouldn’t mind if it was just grey or black throughout. Some of the colour choices work well, but a lot are hideous and I find it spoils the picture. http://ariadnevz2.wordpress.com/

You might be able to change it with the CSS upgrade – you could try, using the free preview feature, to see if you can get it the way you want before you spend money. This is the only way of customising themes at wordpress.com.

Thanks. it might be worth looking at, but CSS looks very daunting to me and I don’t have much time. It’s just a shame because it is very clever that the colour changes automatically according to the picture, but I don’t feel it works. I’m sure all photographers would agree with me and it is a photoblogging theme afterall. so I’m hoping WordPress will look at this and consider changing it in the theme. i’ve put a question about this to support.

Just so you know, it’s very unlikely that there will be any changes to the theme – if they change it then it changes for all those people who are happily using it as well as those that are finding it frustrating, so, yeah, hassle. But it’s possible they might introduce another photoblogging theme. Don’t hold your breath.

Also, if you don’t get an answer quickly, don’t be surprised. I expect Support is quite busy today…
