monotone theme – adjusting picture size
-
Fairly new to WP. Want to know how to make my pictures show up smaller in the monotone theme. have tried with the different options under the image gallery (“Thumb Nail” “Medium”) and pictures shows up the same size regardless. Also tried saving original picture in different size.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Can we get a link to your blog, starting with http? We generally always need to see the blog.

You can’t use those particular settings on Monotone; you have to change it by dragging the corners (in the visual editor) or by hand-coding in the HTML editor.

I did tried both methods – dragging the corners & changing the size directly in the HTML editor… neither worked…

That’s odd. I’ve been able to resize mine. Mind you, I haven’t attempted it since the big update to themes a month or so ago. Maybe someone else can suggest something?
This looks to be the code of the actual picture on the front page right now:
<img src="http://mydogcola.wordpress.com/files/2009/04/cola-3-month_blogv.jpg?w=560" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-20" title="cola-3-month_blogv" alt="cola-3-month_blogv" /I would suggest chopping out all width and size information. So replace that bit in the HTML editor with
<img src="http://mydogcola.wordpress.com/files/2009/04/cola-3-month_blogv.jpg" title="cola-3-month_blogv" alt="cola-3-month_blogv" / -

You should either resize the image in an image editing application, or insert it as a gallery. In the second case it will show up in the text area (below the post title).
