Monster Analytics wiped
-
Hi there,
I linked my website to Google analytics but manage to wipe all of my previous analytics from Monster Insight, how do I get this information back?

Hi there!
What’s the address of the site you’re working on?
Please note that these forums are for WordPress.com hosted sites only. If your site is using the open-source WordPress.org software, we won’t be able to help you out and you’ll want to seek help at these forums:

You may also check the support docs for both services you used.

Hi there!
Its http://www.virtualpursers.com and all the info was on MonsterInsights. We hadn’t set-up Google Analytics from the start (silly I know!) and only just got a UA number so I’m not sure how MonsterInsights was tracking our data in the first place but I thought it was just automatic when you set up a website on WordPress.
So prior to linking to GA, the MonsterInsights dashboard was full of info and then as soon as I linked it to GA on the 29th of September, all of the information disappeared and its just started again from the 29th.Message from MonsterInsights:
Hi Dominique,
I think I understand the situation now.
If you didn’t have any UA tracking code linked to MonsterInsights before the 28th of September, or didn’t have a tracking code running prior to installing MonsterInsights on your site, then unfortunately there was not data being tracked prior to that.
That means there is no data to recover, or that was lost.
If you had a Google Analytics account prior to that, you can try to find and login to that account and connect that UA number to MonsterInsights, this is all I can think that it could be if you previously had numbers.
Again, MonsterInsights doesn’t delete or clear data, as all it can do is send.
I can let you know that you are tracking perfectly now and that dashboard in both MonsterInsights and Google Analytics is correct.
I can also let you know that you are a Lite user as well so there is no account to worry about with MonsterInsights.
I hope this clears up some confusion for you.The information has to be somewhere because as he said, MonsterInsights can’t clear the information, I just need to find it again!

I’m afraid that we won’t be able to help with that as your site is hosted on GoDaddy, not on WordPress.com.
Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. You can read more about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com here:
https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/You can look for help at the community forums here: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
http://wordpress.org/support/ is also a great resource for sites using the open-source WordPress.org software.
