  Hello, I want to switch my site from Wix in order to have better luck monetizing my site. Can I sign up for a monthly plan? I want to experiment first.

  You don’t need any upgrades to migrate your content from Wix, or to get a feel for how WordPress.com works. Your site on the free plan at http://attorneyatmomcom.wordpress.com/ is already a fully-functional website.

  Plans are optional and just add extra features to a site.
