Monthly billing

I would like to request a change in the billing frequency for my site, theblogg32.wordpress.com, from an annual plan to a monthly payment plan. (I am on the free plan currently but would like to upgrade to premium)
On my side, when I go through the checkout process for upgrading to the Premium plan, I only see options for one year, two years, or three years — but no option for monthly billing (screenshot attached).
Since I would prefer to upgrade on a monthly plan, could you please let me know how I can select this option, or if monthly billing is not available in my region (South Africa)?
Looking forward to your guidance so I can proceed with the upgrade.

Mind you will loose a lot of advantages as a free domain and quick support when you switch to monthly billing. Also you will pay almost the double on a monthly plan per year.

You didn’t attach the screenshot. Here is mine. If you don’t see the monthly option then that means that option isn’t available in your region. But, as @staartmees says, you will save so much money paying annually. The only time I have seen someone benefit from a monthly plan was when they only wanted a site for three months counting down to an event. If you already have a domain then surely you are wanting a site indefinitely. You may well have to pay extra for the domain transfer with a monthly plan. I’m sure that can be done for free with an annual plan.
